Cami del Fort

 

The trail PR-V7, also known as the "Cami del Fort" that runs up the Sierra de Bernia has been officially reopened after a refurbishment project that began last autumn.  The project was carried out thanks to an agreement between Callosa d'en Sarria, Jalon, Benissa and Altea, along with a grant of 19,221 euros from the Department of the Environment.

N332 Roadworks

 

Benissa town council have approved a motion to be passed to the Ministry of Development to make arrangements for the resumption of work to the N332 Benissa by-pass.  Work was halted on May 29th 2009 and in spite of announcements from the Ministry that work would resume soon, no further work has been carried out at the site, except on Monday 8th March 2010, when the heavy machinery, that has stood idle since work stopped, was seen being removed late at night.

The Guardia Civil have arrested a man in Parcent for setting fire to a ground floor apartment while the residents were asleep inside on the morning of Sunday 28th February.

Five year old Jennifer Jurd (pictured) who lives in Jalon is the youngest of  the group of young singers and dancers chosen by Sue Holley to join the professional cast of ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ which plays the Casa de Cultura, Calpe on Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 March. Curtain-up each evening is at 20.00hrs.
